About Me

My name is Naomi Foyster-Melnyk and I am a professional dance, sport and event photographer based in Innisfree, AB. I live and farm with my husband Wayne, and our children Norah and Matthew.

I am a dance mom myself, and also a Ukrainian dancer!

I take my professional inspiration from the creative energy of young dancers, and owe my drive to constantly improve and push my boundaries by observing these athletes do the same. My favorite days are the days I get to make kids feel great about themselves, and give mom and dad special memories to cherish.

Each studio, rink or event I am invited to is an opportunity for me to capture lasting memories for you,

and become a positive contributor to your organization.

With over 16 years in the photography business, I have a professional work ethic that I believe makes me stand out from other studios. I thoroughly enjoy interacting with the persons I am privileged to photograph, and am tireless in my efforts to capture natural, fun expressions, while maintaining crisp focus, balanced composition and vibrant true colors in your finished product.

Ukrainian Dance Portraits

While growing up I was not exposed to much Ukrainian dancing – but when I met and married my husband and attended my first Pysanka Festival I was hooked forever. I love the costumes and the music and understand first hand the hours of work that goes into making what these dancers do look so effortless.

In order to best serve your organization, I use a 25 foot backdrop to allow room for larger groups and poses. I provide professional studio lighting for natural skin tones and bright costume colors, on location at your club’s home base. Each dancer is photographed in a variety of poses, to best showcase their dance genre and abilities.

On location event photography

Live Performances

I love to attend performances, festivals and recitals to capture all that happens on stage! Candids from these shows are made available online to parents, and make for fantastic memories!

Figure Skate & CanSkate Portraits

Junior and senior level figure skating, and CanSkate are a unique part of my photography services. Available on and off ice, and always a fun photo shoot! I enjoy the particular challenges that arise when shooting in colder temperatures, and always work efficiently to keep the skaters as warm as possible.
